Privacy policy

This policy explains what the Say It Savage app collects, why, who it is shared with and how you can delete it. The app is run by Say It Savage, an Australian business. We try to collect only what the app needs to work.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Apple we receive your name and an email address (your real one, or Apple's private relay address if you chose to hide it), plus an account ID from Apple. We keep sign-in sessions so you stay logged in.
- Your profile. The display name you choose. A profile photo you add stays on your phone and is never uploaded.
- What you do in the app. Comments, chat messages and reactions, likes, shares, saved items, poll votes, quote requests and upvotes, and the notification choices you make.
- Safety. Reports you make about comments or chat messages, the members you block, and any moderation action taken on your account (for example a mute).
- Bug reports you send. The title and description you write, the part of the app it's about, a screenshot if you attach one, and your app version, phone model and operating system version.
- Membership status. Whether your membership is active and when it renews or ends. We don't receive your card details.
- Usage. Basic, first-party analytics about how the app is used (for example when the app is opened and roughly which device it runs on), so we can see what works and fix what doesn't. We don't use it for advertising and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
We don't collect your location, contacts, health data, or your password (Sign in with Apple doesn't give us one).
What other members see
Other members can see your display name and the comments, chat messages and reactions you post. They never see your email address, your membership or payment details, or the reports and blocks you make.
Payments
Memberships are bought through Apple's App Store, and Apple processes the payment. We use RevenueCat to check with Apple whether your membership is active; RevenueCat receives your account ID and your purchase history with Apple, not your card details.
Who we share it with
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple and App Store payments.
- RevenueCat, to confirm your membership.
- Newly, which hosts the app's servers, database, file storage and analytics on our behalf.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Why we use it
To run your account and membership, show the community features you use, keep the community safe, answer your support requests and bug reports, and improve the app.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Membership → Delete account. This permanently deletes your sign-in account (your name, email and sessions) from our server and ends your connection with Sign in with Apple. It also deletes everything you posted, saved or sent: your comments, chat messages and reactions, likes, saved items, votes, quote requests and upvotes, bug reports and their screenshots, the reports and blocks you made, and your membership record. Your profile and settings are removed from your phone.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription: cancel it in your iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@sayitsavage.com. If you're not happy with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Age
The app isn't made for children. Please don't use it if you're under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date at the top.
